Come back to

Tanglewood

Pack the car, roll down the windows, and head toward the lake — just like families have been doing here since the 1960s.

SOME PLACES STAY WITH YOU

Long before travel apps and crowded destinations, there was a simpler idea of vacation. You packed the car, rolled down the windows, and headed toward the lake.

That's exactly how Tanglewood began — and that spirit has never left. Perched above the shores of Lake Texoma on the Texas–Oklahoma border, Tanglewood has welcomed generations of families, couples, and friends who come for a weekend and return for decades.

This summer, we're celebrating that legacy with a Vintage Summer — board games in the room, croquet on the lawn, popsicle hour, ice cream socials, and the kind of unhurried days that feel like they last forever.

Built During the Golden Era of American Road Trips

In the late 1960s, as Lake Texoma became one of the South's favorite recreation destinations, a vision took shape on its cliff-top shores — a resort where people could gather, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of North Texas.

What started with a few lakeside cabins grew into something remarkable. Master designers and architects left their mark. The resort climbed the cliff above the water, gaining panoramic views stretching across two states. And the people kept coming back — year after year, generation after generation.

The photos on the walls tell the whole story: women in 1960s swimsuits and thick headbands, neon ads from the '90s, two kids proudly holding up a fish somewhere in the decades between. Tanglewood has been the backdrop for more memories than it can count.

Arnold Palmer Designs the Course

1988

The Golf Course Reimagined

Vintage Summer Returns

With a revitalization underway and a celebration of its origin story, Tanglewood invites guests to return, rediscover, and experience what made it special from the start.

Restoring an Icon

As we begin an exciting new chapter, Tanglewood Resort is undergoing a thoughtful renovation - one that celebrates the spirit of the original resort while reimagining it for a new generation of guests.

Our goal isn’t simply to modernize.
It’s to restore the feeling that made Tanglewood special in the first place.

Throughout the property, we’re blending vintage inspiration with fresh design, preserving the character of this iconic lakeside retreat while bringing renewed comfort and style to every corner of the resort.

Think classic resort charm with a timeless twist.

Timeless by Nature

What makes Tanglewood special isn’t just its history – it’s the feeling you get when you arrive.

The wide Texas skies.

The quiet mornings by the lake.
The sound of friends gathering after a day on the golf course.

Some traditions never fade. They simply continue.

As we restore and reimagine Tanglewood Resort, we invite you to be part of the story – to return, rediscover, and experience the magic of a Vintage Vacation at Tanglewood.

Because the best memories aren’t just remembered.

They’re made here.
